วันนี้นั่งเปิด YouTube หาเพลงฟังตามปกติ ก็เปิดหาเพลงที่ Katherine Jenkins ร้อง เจอเพลงนี้

"mike04535 4 months agoOh you Jenkins trolls do shut up. You have no idea what you are banging on about. CJ is a classical singer, not an opera singer. All opera singers are classical singers but not all classical singers are opera singers. That does not de-value their talent. Julie Andrews, Jeanette McDonald, Deanna Durbin, Kathryn Gayson and othe stars were all classically trained singers and could sing classical songs including opera arias. None appeared in opera but were not considered to be inferior singers."
bexie1992 5 months agoHey I like her, but I do know that she's not an opera singer you can tell that he voice isn't in that style. I love opera and not all of us moan about it when people say she's not an opera singer. She said the she wasn't an opera singer, she said she uses the tone of her voice rather then uses the operatic technique. She can sing what ever song she likes it's up to her. She is a good singers, but she admits that she's not an opera singer.
ประมาณว่า KJ เป็นนักร้องเพลง classic แต่ไม่ใช่นักร้องเพลงโอเปร่า เพราะไม่ได้ใช้ operatic technique ในการร้อง แต่ไม่ได้แปลว่าไม่สามารถเพราะจริงๆแล้วนักร้องที่เป็น classically trained singers ก็สามารถร้องโอเปร่าได้ เพียงแต่อาจจะไม่เคยได้แสดงในโอเปร่าเท่านั้น (นักร้องโอเปร่าทุกคนถือว่าเป็น classical singer แต่ไม่ใช่ classical singer ทุกคนที่ร้องเพลงโอเปร่า)
พอจะชัดเจนขึ้นเรื่องนักร้องเพลงคลาสสิคกับนักร้องโอเปร่าก็เลยฟังเพลงของ Kiri Te Knanawa คนที่ featuring กับ KJ ใน The Flower Duet ต่อไป ไปเจอคลิปที่ร้องเพลง I Dream a Dream แล้วก็มี comment ที่เปรียบเทียบเธอกับ Susan Boyle และก็มีคนออกมาบอกว่าอย่ามาเทียบ คนละระดับกัน ก็เลยค้นต่อไปอีกว่ามีอะไรบ้าง เจอข่าวของ Daily Telegraph สรุปว่า Dame Kiri ก็ไม่ได้ปลื้ม Susan Boyle เท่าไร :)

Classical singing is not always about opera.April 1, 2011 by wonderofvoicePeople often have prejudices against opera. This can mean particularly the way singers sound in classical opera as they sing without amplification. Singers spend years in developing their voices to the maximum, building their own instruments and their ”in-built microphone” . This means the voice gets louder and more penetrating because it has to carry over the strong sound of an orchestra. Sometimes this development is taken to an extreme and the beauty of the sound even compromised. There is a lot of carrying power, a strong so called singers formant. At near distance such a voice can literally hurt in your ears! In many cases these voices are classified as dramatic and may be suitable for certain types of repertoire. The component of brightness is exaggerated in relation to darkness or there is an overly dark pressed phonation– against the old Italian ideal of the balance of chiaroscuro (bright-dark). This can also be a result of too much air pressure. Such overly metallic or unnaturally darkened voices are not always produced with harmful technique but the danger is near. "
